New In: Bellocq Candles

A scented candle is a lovely thing to have, but a scented candle that leaves behind a chic storage container when the wax burns away is a stroke of genius. Hand-poured by Greenpoint, Brooklyn-based artisan tea house Bellocq, the Atelier candles are made with soy wax and essential oils inspired by the line's fine aromatic teas—and enhance the smoking experience in more ways than one. Majorelle Mint (large) is crisp, woodsy, and refreshing, while its canister is perfect for holding pipes, lighters, and other accessories; The White Wolf (travel) has a musky, warm aroma and is ideally sized to store loose herbs.

The candles were brought to life for Tetra by photographer and artist Charlie Schuck, who also happens to own the Seattle design space Object and curates the gift shop at the Frye Museum. Schuck worked with our own Su Wu to create abstract, stylized still-lifes at Tetra HQ in the Joshua Tree desert.

Now available for $86 (large) and $38 (travel) in the shop.
